Industrigata workspace
The practice’s own office, on the corner of an early twentieth-century building in Majorstuen, Oslo. A century of small businesses has passed through the space - a fish market, a shoe shop, a cleaning company - and the renovation treats their traces as material to keep. A painted mural of fish, made when the space sold them a hundred years ago, was uncovered and left exposed.

No walls divide the main space. A custom semi-circular curtain draws across when a meeting room or two separate workspaces are needed, and disappears when they are not. The tight floor area is answered with multipurpose furniture built for the room, rather than with more rooms. The office runs on the same principle as the work: keep what has accumulated, add what earns its place.
