WESTYE EGEBERGS GATE
The apartment blocks on Westye Egeberg’s Gate, designed by architect Victor Schaulund, represent an important example of Oslo’s urban development in the early 20th century. Schaulund placed great emphasis on creating beautiful and functional housing. The apartments in these buildings were considered modern for their time, offering excellent natural light, expansive views over Oslo, spacious layouts, and amenities suited to the demands of city life.
The apartment in question has been renovated by its from scratch and features a refined material palette combining pine, steel, and mirror. This harmony is disrupted by furniture and artworks in vivid shades of blue, adding contrast and character. The apartment includes simple, functional details such as sliding doors that efficiently separate the rooms. To create a more open atmosphere, the kitchen was relocated to the living room, making space for an additional guest room.
