Victor Schaulund’s early twentieth-century apartment blocks on Westye Egebergs Gate were built around generous natural light, expansive volumes and views over Oslo. The renovation keeps these qualities and reworks the plan beneath them.
2023
The kitchen moves into the living room, opening a shared zone at the heart of the plan and freeing a room at the back for guests. Sliding panels close rooms off without interrupting the flow between them. Pine, steel and mirror hold the apartment to a calm register, interrupted on purpose by furniture and artworks in strong blues.
